In 2018, Yigit Armutoglu graduated from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He began his professional career in the film industry as a camera operator on the documentary Poliksena – Kız Öldün (2018). He continued his creative work with Majid’den Sevgilerle (2020), supported as part of the TÜRSAK Foundation’s 17th Cinema of the Future program, and the short animated film Home Sweet Home (2025), which was selected for the 12th Canlandıranlar Talent Camp and received an award in the Animation category at the 46th İFSAK National Short Film and Documentary Competition.
His short films have been screened and awarded at numerous national and international film festivals, particularly Ivan’ın Çocuklugu (2025), which was supported in 2023 by the Directorate General of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and İzmir Film Works of the 23rd International İzmir Short Film Festival. The project was also selected for the “Filmer Forge Pitching” section of the International IN THE PALACE Short Film Festival.
Having completed his master’s degree at the Graduate School of Education, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2026, Yigit Armutoglu continues his academic and artistic work in the field of short film.
